“My students are fully engaged in learning, preparing for work”

Sacred Heart students study for their ICDLSacred Heart College in Lower Hutt are enthusiastic about job-ready skills and ICDL certification from 2020 Trust’s KiwiSkills for Jobseekers.

Sandy Roundhill, Sacred Heart’s Digital Technology Head of Department, says “I can highly recommend the ICDL course, which is fully funded through the Kiwiskills programme run by the 2020 Trust. The support from the Kiwiskills team has been fantastic. Best of all, my students are fully engaged in learning how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, knowing that not only are they earning credits, but they are also earning a certificate that is internationally recognised.”

Captivates, easy to use, makes job-ready

Sandy notes many benefits of the course:

  • captures my students’ interest and they are engaged every lesson
  • internet based, not overly technical
  • teaches relevant skills to prepare students for the workforce
  • programme is easy to use:
  • pretests for students to test what they know
  • includes courseware to learn what they don’t know
  • gains Level 2 Unit Standard Credits, with 19 modules available as credit inclusions
  • certificate that is internationally recognised

Becoming Wellington’s newest test centre

ICDL Programme Co-ordinator Karin Elliott comments: “2020 Trust Sacred Heart came on board early in 2016 and their students have gone from strength to strength. The College is soon to become Wellington’s newest Accredited Test Center and already their first students have completed their ICDL certificate.”
